Your PROWEIGHED assessment reflects the vehicle, caravan or trailer exactly as it is presented on the day.
For the most useful result, prepare your setup as close as practical to the way you normally travel, tow or operate it.
Bring it the way you use it
If an item normally travels with you, it should generally be included in the assessment where practical.
The purpose of the assessment is to understand the real configuration. A realistic assessment, not the lightest possible result.

4WD and tow vehicle
Present the vehicle as close as practical to its normal touring, towing or everyday operating configuration.
Leave them at the pressure you normally operate with. PROWEIGHED records the helper airbag pressure during the assessment where applicable.
This is a vehicle-only assessment, so there is no caravan or trailer connected and tow ball mass is not measured.
Caravan and trailer
Present the caravan or trailer as close as practical to its normal travel-ready configuration.
Where practical we prefer the caravan presented with its normal travel water load and, where the objective is to understand maximum usable payload, its full intended water capacity.
If the caravan only remains within an applicable limit because the water tanks are empty, that is important information for you to understand.
Vehicle and caravan combination
This should represent the complete towing setup as close as practical to the way it would normally leave for a trip.
The combination assessment compares the tow vehicle in both conditions, so the caravan needs to be available hitched and able to be unhitched during the assessment.
Leave the vehicle and caravan loaded as presented between the hitched and unhitched measurements unless PROWEIGHED asks otherwise.
Motorhome and campervan
Present the vehicle as close as practical to its normal touring configuration. Remember that the permanent camper fitout is already using part of the vehicle's payload.
Do not assess the vehicle as though the permanent fitout is the only load. The objective is to understand the motorhome or campervan as a complete travelling vehicle.
Boat and pontoon
Present the complete boat and trailer package as close as practical to the way it is normally towed.
The assessment reflects boat, trailer, engine, fuel, equipment and accessories as presented on the day. Published hull weight alone does not represent the complete towing package.
Commercial and fleet
Commercial vehicles should be presented in a configuration that reflects how they normally operate.
For coordinated fleet sessions, PROWEIGHED works with the business to establish the most appropriate operating configuration before the assessment.
Know what's in your tanks
Water can represent a substantial part of the payload in caravans, motorhomes and some work vehicles. Know how much water is onboard before the assessment. If the tanks are not full, it is useful to know approximately how much they contain.
PROWEIGHED would rather identify a payload issue with realistic water onboard than have empty tanks hide the issue.
Have the information accessible
Make the ratings easy to find
Where applicable, make sure PROWEIGHED can access the relevant vehicle or trailer information on the day.
You do not need to research every rating beforehand. The point is simply that important plates are not buried behind packed storage.
Leave the tyres as you normally run them
Do not change tyre pressures immediately before the assessment to try to achieve a particular result. PROWEIGHED records the applicable tyre pressures as part of relevant assessments.
Helper airbags fitted?
Leave them at the pressure you normally operate with for the presented load. PROWEIGHED records the helper airbag pressures where applicable.
PROWEIGHED does not prescribe or certify helper airbag pressures.
Prepare the location
PROWEIGHED needs a suitable area to safely position the vehicle and weighing equipment, with enough room to manoeuvre.
For combinations, allow enough room to position the complete setup, hitch, unhitch and reposition where required.

If it normally travels with you, leave it in where practical.

Permanent and normally fitted accessories form part of the real vehicle or trailer weight.
The objective is to understand the vehicle as it is normally used.
If something is close to or above an applicable limit, it is better to identify it and understand why.
That does not necessarily mean the assessment cannot proceed. Tell PROWEIGHED what is still missing from the setup. The measured results reflect the vehicle or trailer exactly as presented on the day, and any missing load should be considered when interpreting the available capacity. The closer the setup is to its real operating configuration, the more useful the assessment will be.
For larger commercial assessments, PROWEIGHED can discuss the preferred vehicle loading configuration before the fleet session. That helps establish whether vehicles should be presented with standard tool loads, typical stock, driver, equipment and normal operational payload.
